The metro rail service ceased operations starting from 5:30pm on Thursday, citing "unavoidable circumstances," according to authorities.
The Dhaka Mass Transit Company Ltd (DMTCL) announced on its official Facebook page that the final metro train would depart from Motijheel station at 5:30pm towards Uttara North station.
Earlier in the day, metro rail operations were disrupted at 2:10pm when authorities suspended services between Pallabi and Shewrapara stations due to a fire incident near Mirpur-10 station.
