At least five people including four primary school teachers have been killed in a tripartite collision of a truck, tractor and CNG-powered auto-rickshaw in Naogaon.
The incident occurred on the Naogaon-Rajshahi highway at Bablatola area in the Sadar upazila around 8 am Friday as reports Prothom Alo.
The deceased were identified as Deloar Hossain (47) of Nehenda village, Mokbul Hossain (58) of Bijli village, Jannatul (35) of Bhadorondo village and auto-rickshaw driver Selim (45) of Dangapara village in Niamatpur upazila. Another victim slain Lelin hails from Sundarganj upazila of Gaibandha. Deloar, Mokbul, Jannatul and Lelin are primary school teachers. They were going to Naogaon city from Niamatpur to take part in training.
The CNG-run auto-rickshaw was coming from Niamatpur towards Naogaon city. The truck was going to Rajshahi from Naogaon. The auto-rickshaw first collided with the truck at Bablatola area. Later, the tractor, coming from behind, rammed over the skidded auto-rickshaw killing the five victims on the spot, said Office in Charge (OC) of Naogaon sadar police station Nazrul Islam.
