The government will start administering the fourth dose of Covid-19 vaccine from December 20 on trial basis. This is going to be a special campaign for people aged above 60, said a circular of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The fourth dose will be given at seven centers. Each center has been assigned with one hundred people, who will be vaccinated and they will be kept under observation for two weeks.
Front liners, pregnant women, immunocompromised people and patients suffering from chronic diseases will be given the vaccine during the campaign. All citizens having health risks will be vaccinated with the fourth dose from January 1 next year.
Pfizer vaccine will be used in the campaign at all permanent vaccination centres across the country.
