6 spans out of total 49 of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Railway Bridge are now clearly visible. The rest of the spans will be placed on the poles in stages.
The snaps are now visible clearly on the Jamuna River. The first six spans have already placed and more spans will appear soon. Not only the installation of the span, but other works are also going on at a fast pace.
Abdul Khalek, Chief Engineer (Super Structure) of the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Railway Bridge Project, said that the work of 12 pillars on the eastern side of the bridge has already been completed. The installation of span on pillars number 42-43, 47-48, 48-49 and 49-50 and 43-44 and 44-45 of the bridge are done.
The residents of both sides of Jamuna are happy too. The length of the Bangabandhu Railway Bridge is 4.8 km. The cost of the project is estimated to be more than Tk 16,780.95 crore. The project is scheduled to be completed in 2024.
