A group of protesters attacked the Rangpur residence of Jatiya Party Chairman GM Quader on Thursday night, vandalizing property and setting fire to a motorcycle. The incident occurred at his home in the New Senpara area shortly after his arrival from Dhaka.
According to eyewitnesses and party leaders, the demonstrators—allegedly affiliated with the anti-discrimination student movement and several other political groups—marched from the Grand Hotel intersection around 8:45 PM, armed with sticks, makeshift weapons, and bricks. Upon reaching the residence, they damaged three motorcycles parked in the garden and set one ablaze before dispersing.
Jatiya Party leaders condemned the attack and demanded the immediate arrest of those involved. They stated that GM Quader was in Rangpur to attend a wedding and expressed concern over the escalating political hostility.

Co-Chairman Mostafizar Rahman Mostafa confirmed plans to announce protest programs in response. Vice Chairman SM Yasir Ahmed said their party had maintained peaceful political engagement in Rangpur and warned that the flames ignited by the attackers would not be easily extinguished.
Meanwhile, a representative of the National Citizen Party (NCP), one of the groups blamed for the attack, denied any official involvement, stating that their organization has no operational committee in Rangpur and that any presence was personal, not organizational.
Police were deployed promptly to the scene and reported that the situation was under control.
