Police recovered bodies of two young madrasa students from a fish farm in Ashulia, Savar, on Wednesday morning.
The bodies were found floating in the water at a fish enclosure in the Shantinagar area of Baipail.
The deceased have been identified as Limon Hossain (10), son of Ratan Mia from Aminpur in Pabna, and Manik Hossain (8), son of Ziaul Hossain from Madarganj in Jamalpur.
Both children were students at a local madrasa.
According to police, locals spotted the bodies floating in the water and informed authorities.
Police later retrieved the bodies and sent them to the morgue at Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital in Dhaka for autopsy.
Shahinur Kabir, Assistant Superintendent of Police (Savar Circle), said, “An investigation is underway to determine the cause of death.
The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination.”
