After almost 24 hours the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) has resumed inland water vessel services across the nation as the cyclonic storm Sitrang completed its landfall and weakened to a tropical depression.
On Monday evening, the cyclonic storm Sitrang made landfall in Bangladesh's coastal region with force winds and heavy rains.
As the weather started improving gradually authorities took the decision on Tuesday morning.
More than 7,000 cyclone shelters were prepared to evacuate people.
