Police get Rafi a 7-day fresh remand in militant snatching case

A Dhaka Court on Thursday has granted a 7-day fresh remand for Mehedi Hasan Ami alias Rafi, the chief coordinator in the incident of snatching of two death row convict militants from the court premises. The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shafi Uddin granted this remand.

On Thursday morning, Rafi was produced in the court and Mohammad Abul Kalam Azad, the investigation officer and inspector of the Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) Unit, sought a 10-day remand in a case filed with Kotwali Thana.

In the remand application, he mentioned Mehedi Hasan Ami alias Rafi was the chief coordinator in the incident of snatching of two death row convict militants.

On Sunday, two activists of banned militant outfit The Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) sentenced to death in publisher Faisal Arefin Dipan murder case were snatched from police custody by their associates.

The militants are Abu Siddiq and Moinul Hasan. They both are activists of Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB).
