AL, BNP get nod to stage rallies

Awami League and BNP are permitted to stage demonstrations on Saturday at Baitul Mukarram‍‍`s south gate , and Nayapaltan respectively, subject to the approval of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police.

DMP‍‍`s Joint Commissioner (Operations), Biplob Kumar Sarker, informed the media about the development.

DMP‍‍`s Additional Commissioner (Crime and Operations), Kh Mahid Uddin, stated during a news conference at his office on Friday that the two parties have been given permission to hold the rallies under 20 conditions.  

According to him, Jamaat-e-Islami is not permitted to hold its gathering at Shapla Chattar.

Without authorization, no one will be able to host rallies, adding that, "We will take legal action if they do."
