The unsolicited comments of the foreign envoys on the internal affairs of Bangladesh will not be accepted, said Agriculture Minister Abdur Razzaque. Interference of any nation in the election will be accepted. Those who comment on the election will be warned, added he.
Razzaque, also the presidium member of the ruling party, said this in response to questions from reporters during a ceremony at Amrakanan, a memorial of the Great Liberation War, located in Meherpur's Mujibnagar at around 9:30 am on Wednesday.
According to media reports, Japanese ambassador Ito Naoki in response to a question about the 2018 election at a function in a hotel in Dhaka on Monday said, 'I heard that the police officers filled the ballot boxes the night before the voting day. I have not heard of such instances in any other country.' The ambassador also hoped for a participatory election in Bangladesh.
Regarding the comments of the Japanese ambassador, the minister said, "Why Japan, we can never accept any ambassador's nose on the internal affairs of Bangladesh. They will be warned again.”
Razzaque said, “Article 126 of the constitution provisions that the election will be conducted by the Election Commission. District administration and police will assist them. It is their moral responsibility. The Prime Minister has instructed them to do so. The next election will be acceptable. Whatever agitation-struggle BNP does, it will be dealt with politically.”
