Legendary South Indian actor Kota Srinivasa Rao, widely revered for his powerful performances and immense contribution to Telugu cinema, passed away early Sunday morning at the age of 83.
His death occurred around 4am at his residence in Hyderabad, following several days of illness related to age.
Born on July 10, 1942, in Andhra Pradesh, Kota began his artistic journey in theatre before transitioning to films in the late 1970s.
Over the decades, he carved an iconic place for himself in the Indian film industry, acting in over 750 films across Telugu and other South Indian languages.
Known for his impeccable dialogue delivery, distinct voice, and exceptional versatility, Kota seamlessly portrayed a wide range of characters—from comedic roles to menacing villains and emotionally complex figures.
