Bangladesh eyes a big lead

On the 4th day of the first test against West Indies, Bangladesh is leading by 244 runs. After the Caribbeans were overwhelmed yesterday by the spinner as they lost 5 for 6 in a lower-order collapse, Bangladesh took to the second innings and ended the day with a lead of 218.

While a lead of 244 is certainly assuring and inspires the hope of a big score line, the second innings might prove to be more challenging than the first one. Tamim Iqbal disappointed once again as he was the first to go on the 3rd day shortly followed by Najmul Hossain Shanto. Having played a satisfying first innings, Shadman was also eliminated with only 5 runs.

As it stands on the fourth day of the first test, Captain Mominul Haque and Mushfiqur Rahim are on the crease. Momin shows signs of hope and stability as he’s eyeing a fifty and Mushfiqur is offering a partnership that if not broken suddenly, might offer a big lead by the end of the innings.

As it stands at the moment:

Bangladesh: 430 and 73/4. (10:17AM)
