Bangladesh’s star pacer Mustafizur Rahman has signed up for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) draft, which was recently confirmed through PSL’s official social media.
The 2024 PSL season is scheduled to begin on April 8 in Pakistan.
Last season, Mustafizur played for Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
He took 14 wickets in 9 matches, maintaining an economy rate of 9.26. Unfortunately, due to commitments with the Bangladesh national team, Mustafizur had to leave the IPL early and return home before the tournament ended.
Despite his strong performance in the previous IPL season, Mustafizur went unsold in this year’s IPL mega auction. Even though his base price was INR 2 crore, none of the IPL teams picked him up.
The 10th edition of PSL will open with a match between Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United, with the final set for May 19 at Karachi’s National Bank Stadium.
Since he won’t be playing in the IPL this year, Mustafizur is looking forward to participating in the PSL.
He has been part of seven IPL seasons but has only played in one PSL season so far.
In the 2017-18 PSL season, Mustafizur represented Lahore Qalandars, where he took four wickets in five matches with a remarkable economy rate of 6.43. Apart from IPL and PSL, Mustafizur has also played in Bangladesh`s BPL, Sri Lanka`s LPL, and England`s Vitality Blast tournaments.
