WI collapse under Tiger’s Juggernaut

Bangladesh Tigers stopped West Indies by only 148 runs. In the face of perfect bowling of Mehidy Hasan,  Mustafizur and Miraj, the visiting team have bagged that runs losing all the wickets in 43.4 overs.

In the sunny morning at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium on Friday, Mustafizur gave Bangladesh an ideal start by taking out Sunil Ambris (6) with one that swung away before Mehidy Hasan Miraz struck twice in an over to remove debutant Kjorn Ottley (24) and Joshua Da Silva (5).

Before the visitors could catch a breath, Tamim Iqbal introduced Shakib Al Hasan, who appeared to pick up from the last match by immediately going through the gates of Andre McCarthy (3) with an arm ball.

On Wednesday, Shakib Al Hasan returned from a ban with a decisive four-wicket haul while debutant Hasan Mahmud shone with three for 28 on a slow track in the first ODI as the Tigers eased to a six-wicket win for a 1-0 lead in the series.

The West Indies batsman looked very helpless in facing the bowlers. Gradually regular wickets are being falling down. Alzarri Joseph, Raymon Reifer, Rovman Powel, Nkrumah Bonner and kyle Mayers came back to the pavilion. Rovman Powell scored highest 41 runs for the team.

Mehidy Hasan got 4 wickets while  Sakib Al Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman bagged 2 wickets each.

Earlier, West Indies won the toss and opted to bat first as the visitors look to claw their way back into the three-match series after a disastrous first outing.

The Tigers named an unchanged line-up after a convincing win in the series opener while the visitors have made one change, handing a debut to left-handed batsman Kjorn Ottley.
