Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of noted poet, Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra artiste and valiant freedom fighter Asad Chowdhury.
The prime minister, in a condolence message, said poet Asad Chowdhury will be remembered through his creative works.
Sheikh Hasina prayed for the salvation of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
The Ekushey Padak-winning poet passed away at Lakeridge Health Oshawa in Ontario, Canada on Thursday. He was 80.
