Army chief urges young officers to be prepared to defend sovereignty

Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman has called upon newly commissioned officers to remain ever prepared to safeguard the sovereignty of the country.

Speaking as the chief guest at the Bangladesh Navy‍‍`s Summer President’s Parade held at the Chattogram Naval Academy on Sunday morning, the Army Chief emphasized the importance of integrity, discipline, and a spirit of self-sacrifice for the protection of national sovereignty.

General Waker-Uz-Zaman praised the Bangladesh Navy, describing it as a highly organized and capable force. He highlighted its critical role in safeguarding the country‍‍`s maritime boundaries, protecting marine resources, combating crimes at sea, and ensuring good governance in the maritime domain.

At the beginning of the parade, the Army Chief inspected the parade by jeep and later received a salute from eight platoons of newly commissioned officers. Following the parade, he presented awards to officers who achieved excellence in training.

Senior officers from the Army, Navy, and Air Force, high-ranking government officials, local dignitaries, and family members of the new officers were present at the event.
