In a bizarre welcome gesture, Bangladesh will present Bengal goats to the Sultan of Brunei Darussalam as a "gift".
Talking to the media at the PMO, Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen said on Sunday that the government entertained "Kachchi Biryani" ( a spicy rice dish based on mutton) on the menu for the Sultan, who came to the country on a two-day state visit on Saturday.
Saying that the Sultan "likes the dush a lot", Momen shared a possible plan to have a chef accompany him with goats offered to the Sultan.
Earlier in the day, Bangladesh and Brunei signed four instruments, including an air services agreement, to elevate the bilateral relations to a newer height.
The three other bilateral instruments are: "MoU on the Employment and Recruitment of Bangladeshi Workers," "MoU on the Field of Cooperation in the Supply of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and other Petroleum Products;" and "MoU on the Recognition of Certificate Issued under the Provisions of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, 1978 as amended."
The Sultan will leave Dhaka via a special flight on Monday morning, an official told UNB.
