Bangladesh's government should respond meaningfully to the report on torture, abduction and extrajudicial killing in the country, says New York-based rights body Human Rights Watch (HRW).
The global human rights watchdog released a statement on its website Thursday.
The US has already sanctioned Bangladesh’s law enforcement agency Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) under the Magnitsky Human Rights Accountability Act for alleged violation of human rights, the report read.
The HRW suggested the expulsion of RAB from the peacekeeping mission of the UN.
According to the statement, the rights experts on 14 March urged the Bangladesh government to stop vindictive acts on the relatives of abducted victims and human rights activists as they get support from international rights organisations.
