Rainfall is likely to increase across Bangladesh over the next five days as the monsoon remains less active over the country, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said Tuesday.
The weather may bring light to moderate rain or thundershowers with temporary gusty winds to several areas of the country, according to a Met Office bulletin.
Rain is likely at a few places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions.
Some areas may also experience moderately heavy rainfall.
Day and night temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged across the country during the period.
The BMD said the monsoon trough extends from Rajasthan through Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal to Assam, passing across northern Bangladesh.
An associated trough extends into the North Bay, while the monsoon remains less active over Bangladesh and moderately active over the North Bay.
