BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has received the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine. She was administered the dose on Wednesday (August 18) at the Sheikh Russell Gastro liver Institute and Hospital in the capital at around 4:30 PM.
Earlier, the BNP chief received the first jab against coronavirus on July 19.
The matter was confirmed to the press by BNP press wing official Shayrul Kabir Khan.
Before she was taken to the hospital for the second covid dose, BNP general-secretary Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and her medical team’s foremost member AZM Zahid Hossain and other party officials came to visit at her Gulshan residence.
Serving sentence on two corruption cases, Khaleda Zia was temporarily released amid the pandemic in March last year, as per the government’s direction.
Since then, she is at her Gulshan residence Feroza.
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia tested positive for coronavirus on April 10 this year. Her caretakers too tested positive for the virus during that period, according to media reports.
Subsequently, she was admitted to Evercare Hospital in the capital on April 27. After receiving treatment for 54 days at the hospital, she returned to her Gulshan residence on June 19.
After a month, she was administered the first dose of covid vaccine on July 19.
