Member Secretary of Public Rights Council and former Vice-President of Dhaka University Central Student Union Nurul Haq Nur has returned home. He landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 11:30 am on Wednesday.
Joint Convener of the People's Rights Council Abu Hanif confirmed his return to the country and told the media that he left the airport after 12:30 PM after completing the immigration and directly participated in the mass rally at the Democracy Stage at the Press Club.
According to party sources, Nur left the country for Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah on the night of December 18.
Before going to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah, he visited Qatar and Dubai. In Dubai, he met Mendi Safadi, who is said to be a member of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud party. Many say that Safadi is a member of the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad. Controversy arose due to this matter`. However, Nur claimed in a video message that anyone can have a meeting with anyone. There is nothing wrong with that.
Pictures of Noor's alleged meeting with Mendi Safadi circulated on social media before his speech. Initially, Noor's supporters claimed that the picture was manipulated. But Noor later came on video live and confirmed the authenticity of that photo and meeting.
But Noor's trip abroad and his meeting with an intelligence officer from a country that does not have diplomatic relations with Bangladesh have been criticized by many.
