Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi will be buried beside national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, following a request from his family, said Fatima Tasnim Zuma, secretary of the Liberation War and Democratic Movement of the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (Ducsu), on Friday.
Zuma disclosed the information in a Facebook post around 6pm, which was later corroborated by Inqilab Mancha’s official Facebook page.
She said the vehicle carrying Hadi’s body had departed the airport for the morgue, after which Inqilab Mancha activists would take up positions in Shahbagh.
According to Zuma, a janaza will be held on Saturday after Zuhr prayers at Manik Mia Avenue. The body will be brought to Dhaka University’s central mosque on Saturday, instead of Friday, as part of the funeral procession.
She also called on students and supporters to maintain discipline and ensure the movement remains peaceful, warning against any attempts at infiltration or violence.
“There will be no public viewing of the body. Everyone is requested to remain orderly and offer prayers for martyr Hadi,” she added.
