United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi, highlighted the need for the solution to the Rohingya crisis to come from Myanmar itself, despite the complexities of the ongoing conflict there.

Grandi made these remarks after meeting with Bangladesh‍‍`s Foreign Affairs Adviser on Thursday morning.

Speaking to the media after a one-hour meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Grandi stressed that while the situation in Myanmar remains complicated due to ongoing conflicts, finding a resolution is crucial.

"The situation in Myanmar is very complex. There are multiple conflicts, but we must focus on pushing for a solution," he said.

Grandi also expressed his gratitude toward Bangladesh for continuing to provide refuge to the Rohingya people, despite the significant challenges the country faces.

He acknowledged Bangladesh‍‍`s ongoing support, which has played a vital role in addressing the humanitarian needs of the displaced population.

During the meeting, Grandi voiced his full support for Bangladesh’s initiative to host a global conference aimed at addressing the Rohingya issue.

"I always have agreed to finding a solution for the Rohingya issue," he added, reaffirming his stance on the importance of resolving the crisis at its source.

He also mentioned that the Bangladesh government has proposed organizing a conference in the coming months to discuss the Rohingya situation, and the UNHCR would fully back this initiative.

Grandi emphasized the importance of this upcoming conference and the role it could play in moving the crisis toward a lasting resolution.

"We must continue to work towards a solution," he stated.

Ending his comments, Grandi once again expressed appreciation for Bangladesh‍‍`s role in hosting the Rohingyas and underscored the need for a resolution to the crisis for the future well-being of both the refugees and the region.

This visit by Filippo Grandi comes as the Rohingya issue remains one of the most pressing humanitarian crises in the world today, and the efforts of countries like Bangladesh continue to provide much-needed relief.
