Health officials reported 565 new dengue cases in Bangladesh over the past 24 hours, along with three deaths, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
A DGHS spokesperson said the fatalities include one in the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) area and two in the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) area.
Of the 565 fresh cases:
- 253 were recorded in DNCC
- 67 in DSCC
- 101 in Chattogram division
- 48 in Barishal division
- 33 in Khulna division
- 26 in Mymensingh division
- 28 in Rajshahi division
- 4 in Rangpur division
- 5 in Sylhet division
Since the beginning of the dengue season this year, Bangladesh has reported a total of 394 deaths and 96,627 infections. By comparison, last year the country witnessed 575 deaths and 101,214 cases.
