Between 8:00 am Wednesday and 8:00 am Thursday, six people have died from dengue, while 647 new patients have been admitted to hospitals across the country, including Dhaka, according to a press release from the Health Emergency Operations Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The release stated that of the 647 newly admitted patients, 241 were admitted to hospitals within Dhaka City Corporation, while the remainder were hospitalized in facilities outside the capital.
For context, from January 1 to December 31, 2024, a total of 101,214 people were infected with dengue nationwide, with 575 deaths reported.
In comparison, in 2023, dengue claimed 1,705 lives, and 321,179 patients were admitted to hospitals due to the disease.
