Dozens of activists from a Gaza-bound aid flotilla disembarked on a Greek island on Friday after their boats were intercepted by Israeli forces in international waters.
Around 175 activists were brought ashore under Greek coast guard escort and taken by bus to an undisclosed location, officials said.
Gideon Saar said the transfer was done in coordination with the Greek government, thanking Greece for receiving those on board the vessels.
The flotilla, made up of more than 20 boats, was organised to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza and challenge the ongoing blockade.
Several European countries criticised Israel’s action and called for the release of the activists, saying the interception raised legal concerns.
The United States, however, supported Israel, describing the flotilla as a political move and urging allies to block support for such efforts.
Organisers said the mission aimed to bring aid to Gaza, where access remains limited despite a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.
The situation highlights ongoing tensions over humanitarian access to the Palestinian territory.
