A Jubo League activist was attacked on early Friday in the Shahjahanpur area of the capital by unidentified assailants.
The 36-year-old deceased Oliullah Rubel served as the office secretary for the Chhatra League unit in Shahjahanpur police station. According to his brother-in-law of the deceased, Mamun Ahmed Siddique, he was actively involved in Jubo League activities.
He ran an internet business in the region and supplied eggs as well.
Around 1:45am in, the event happened on a street close to his home on Gulbagh Joardar Lane.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Farukul Alam of the Shahjahanpur Police Station confirmed the matter and stated, “Wounds from sharp weapons were found on the body..”
“We are looking into the murder`s motivation. The murderers will soon be prosecuted,” according to OC Farukul.
Rubel resided in a rental home on Joardar Lane with his wife and daughter.
Rubel was attacked while walking home from the Rajarbagh at night, according to Mamun Ahmed Siddique.
The family members brought him to Islami Bank Hospital after receiving information. He was then sent quickly to the NITOR, the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation.
He was afterwards transported to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where medical staff pronounced him dead.
