Starting tomorrow, bail certificates will be sent online, according to Law Adviser Prof. Dr. Asif Nazrul.
He made the announcement during the inauguration of an internship program organized by the Attorney General’s office at the Supreme Court auditorium on Tuesday.
The event was chaired by Attorney General Md. Asaduzzaman.
Prof. Nazrul explained, “After a court grants bail, an accused currently has to go through twelve steps, often facing harassment at each stage. To resolve this, from tomorrow, bail certificates will be sent online. Once bail is granted, the certificate will be automatically sent to the relevant prison in a single click.”
He also noted that a separate secretariat for the Justice Division will be established during the interim government’s tenure.
The legal advisor added that legislation related to the Justice Division Secretariat, enforced disappearance, Anti-Corruption Commission, and human rights is expected to be finalized in the coming weeks.
