Former prime minister Sheikh Hasina has been sentenced to a total of 21 years in prison in three separate corruption cases linked to the allocation of plots in RAJUK’s Purbachal New Town Project.
She received seven years in each case.
The verdict was delivered today (Thursday) around 11:45 am by Judge Md Abdullah Al Mamun of Dhaka’s Special Judge Court-5.
Both sides completed their arguments on 23 November, after which the court fixed today for announcing the judgment. The court delivered its ruling as scheduled.
Across the three cases, there are 47 charges in total, with 23 people named as individual accused.
