Police recovered the body of a man from Sirajganj's Ullapara upazila on Friday morning.
The deceased was identified as Yusuf, son of Rahim Uddin Sardar of the village.
Enamul Haque, inspector (investigation) of Ullapara Model Police Station, said Yusuf used to run the irrigation pump of a farmer named Russel in the village.
Yusuf watered the paddy fields every night and returned home early the next morning, but he left on Thursday night and did not return home.
Around 10 am on Friday, locals found Yusuf's body near the irrigation pump and informed police.
On information, police recovered the body from the spot and handed it over to his family, as no one complained.
"Yusuf might have died from electrocution while switching on or off the irrigation pump at some point in the night," added the inspector.
