The runway at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka will remain open for 24 hours from May in order to operate flights.
Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh Chairman Air Vice Marshal M Mafidur Rahman said this on Monday.
The runway is witnessing closure from 12:00 am to 8:00 am every day since last five months causing suffering to hundreds of outbound passengers.
The runway reminded closed as the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh is constructing and expanding taxiways for the third terminal.
Some 90 to 110 flights now depart and land within the 16-hour window.
