Oman is set to resume visa issuance for Bangladeshi nationals in 12 specific categories, according to Sirajul Haque, Chairman of the Bangladesh Social Club in Oman.

The categories include family visas, travel visas for Bangladeshis residing in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, medical practitioner visas, engineer visas, nurse visas, teacher visas, accountant visas, investor visas, and all types of official visas.

On October 31 of the previous year, Oman suspended all visa services for Bangladeshi citizens. Since then, the number of Bangladeshis traveling to Oman has decreased by more than 50%. In September of the same year, the number of Bangladeshi citizens traveling to Oman was 28,201.

The Royal Oman Police (ROP) announced the suspension of all types of visas for Bangladeshis in a circular issued on October 31.

Following the ban, the Bangladesh Embassy in Muscat stated in a release, "This suspension is temporary."
