Khaleda Zia, the Chairperson of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), is expected to return to Bangladesh by mid-April, following Eid celebrations, according to MA Malek, President of UK BNP.

Speaking to journalists after an iftar event organized by the Noakhali Nationalist Forum UK in London, Malek confirmed that Khaleda Zia has plans to return home soon.

The event, held to pray for Khaleda Zia‍‍`s recovery, took place on Wednesday evening, London local time.

“We requested Begum Khaleda Zia to return to the country after celebrating Eid, and she has graciously accepted our request. She plans to return in mid-April, shortly after Eid,” Malek said to reporters.

He added, “Her doctors are also preparing her treatment schedule accordingly, but the availability of flights remains a factor. If a flight is not available at the scheduled time, there may be a delay of a day or two. But Madam is ready to return home.”

When questioned about BNP‍‍`s Acting Chairperson Tarique Rahman’s possible return, Malek explained, “It’s uncertain when Tarique Rahman will return. He might come back a few days after Madam Khaleda Zia, but I don’t believe they will return together.”

The iftar gathering, presided over by Abul Hossain Jasim, Advisor of the London Metropolitan BNP, was attended by several notable BNP leaders, including UK BNP Senior Vice President Abul Kalam Azad, Senior Joint General Secretary Parvez Mallik, General Secretary of the Nationalist Lawyers‍‍` Forum UK Barrister Hamidul Haque Afendi Liton, and President of the Zia Parishad UK branch, Professor Dr. Saiful Alam Chowdhury.

The return of Khaleda Zia, a pivotal figure in Bangladesh‍‍`s political landscape, will undoubtedly be closely followed, as her presence could influence the ongoing political dynamics within the country.
