Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan faced a brief security issue in Surat after a crowd gathered during his visit to a friend’s residence.

The incident happened when he stopped at the Pal-area home of businessman Sunil Shah at Casa Rivera.

Bachchan had arrived in Surat on Friday afternoon to attend the inauguration of Season 3 of the Indian Street Premier League (ISPL), which is set to begin this evening at Lalbhai Contractor Stadium.

Several former cricketers and film personalities are expected to join the opening ceremony.

After landing at Surat Airport, the actor went straight to Shah’s house. Soon after, a large number of fans gathered outside the building.

A video shared on social media shows Bachchan standing near the entrance as people surrounded him.

During the crowd rush, a glass gate at the entrance reportedly broke and fell.

A few people suffered minor injuries. Police were already present at the spot and quickly took control of the situation to ensure safety.

ISPL Season 3 will officially start on Friday and continue for a month. The league features fast-paced T10 tennis-ball matches and highlights India’s street cricket culture, according to the organisers.

Earlier in the day, Amitabh Bachchan was seen at Mumbai’s Kalina Airport, where he waved at photographers before flying to Surat.
