Despite going unsold in the auction, Bangladeshi pacer Mustafizur Rahman has found a new team in the Indian Premier League (IPL) following recent tensions between India and Pakistan.
On Wednesday, Delhi Capitals announced on social media that they have signed Mustafizur, who had previously played for the franchise.
According to a statement published on the official IPL website, Mustafizur has been acquired for INR 6 crore. His base price during the auction was INR 2 crore.
This makes Mustafizur the highest-paid Bangladeshi cricketer in IPL history.
Previously, in 2009, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for USD 600,000, which was worth close to INR 4 crore at the time.
