Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, State Minister for Shipping said they were working for the development of tennis in Bangladesh.
“One day Bangladesh will also do well in tennis,” the minister said this while presiding the prize distribution and closing ceremony of the ITF Asia Under-14 Development Championships on Thursday (January 19).
The tennis tournament was held at the Sheikh Jamal National Tennis Complex under the management of the Bangladesh Tennis Federation after getting approval of International Tennis Federation.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Md Zahid Ahsan Russell distributed the prizes among the winning players while Chairman of East Coast Group Azam J. Chowdhury and ITF Development Officer Jonathan Stubbs were present among others.
Chinese Taipei (Taiwan) took first place, followed by Pakistan at second place, Myanmar at third place and Nepal at fourth place. Bangladesh team achieved the fifth place.
