A fire broke out at a plastic product-manufacturing factory in the Islambagh area under Lalbagh Police Station in Dhaka on Wednesday afternoon (December 17, 2025).
Anwarul Islam, warehouse inspector at the Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) headquarters media cell, said the fire originated at a factory in the Chairmangaht area of Islambagh around 1:30 pm and quickly spread.
Upon receiving the information, six firefighting units from Lalbagh, Hazaribagh, and Palashi fire stations rushed to the scene at around 1:50 pm and were working to bring the fire under control, he added.
He also mentioned that three more units from Siddique Bazar fire station were on their way.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, the official said.
