In a major development, the prosecution has revealed that they have obtained crucial call records linked to Sheikh Hasina and others involved in the mass killings during the July-August uprising.
Along with these call records, they have also uncovered significant evidence related to the disappearances that occurred at the time.
However, prosecutors have expressed frustration over a lack of cooperation when it comes to sharing information with the tribunal.
On Monday afternoon (January 13), the prosecution shared these findings with the International Crimes Tribunal, confirming that they had acquired critical call records and important evidence regarding the disappearances during the uprising.
During a briefing, a prosecutor from the tribunal said, "We had filed a request with the tribunal to confirm the authenticity of the audio records, including those of Sheikh Hasina and others that had surfaced. The tribunal has approved our request."
The prosecutor went on to say that the tribunal had given permission for a forensic examination to verify the authenticity of the key call records involving Sheikh Hasina and the others.
Directions have been issued to the CID and other relevant authorities to proceed with the investigation.
