Students from the seven colleges affiliated with Dhaka University have given a four-hour deadline for the resignation of the university‍‍`s Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education), Professor Dr. Mamun Ahmed.

The students warned that if their demand isn’t met, they will launch even stronger protest actions.

The announcement was made during a press conference at the Dhaka College campus around 11:45 AM on Monday.

Along with Dr. Mamun Ahmed’s resignation, the students are also demanding the resignation of the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of New Market Police Station.

During the press conference, Md. Shafiquddin from Dhaka College and Sumaiya Akter from Eden Women’s College spoke to the media.

The students insisted that Dr. Mamun Ahmed must resign by 4 PM on the same day, Monday. They also made it clear that the OC of New Market Police Station must step down as well.

If their demands are not met within the given time, the seven colleges‍‍` students promised to take tougher measures.

Earlier in the morning, students began gathering at Dhaka College.

Although they had planned to block roads in front of their colleges starting at 9 AM, no roadblocks were seen by the time of the press conference.
