State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury MP said that the supply chain of Bangladesh was closed during the pandemic. It was the water transport workers who kept the supply chain operative.
Khalid, also the organizing secretary of ruling Awami League, said this at a discussion meeting and doa mahfil organized by BIWTC on the occasion of the 47th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and 15 August National Mourning Day.
He also said that Bangladesh will be a rich country by 2040. The global community including the US is investing in Bangladesh.
There is nothing that is less available in the market, added he.
