The ongoing mild heat wave is likely to continue in different parts of the country, said a Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) bulletin valid for 24 hours commencing 9am today.
"Mild heat wave is sweeping over Rajshahi and Sylhet divisions and the districts of Dhaka, Tangail, Rangpur, Dinajpur and Nilphamari, and it may continue," said the bulletin.
"Rain or thunder showers with intense lightning flashes and temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at few places over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Rangpur, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet, divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi division with moderately heavy falls at isolated places over the country," it added
However, the day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
Country's maximum temperature on Wednesday was recorded 38.2 degrees Celsius at Rajshahi, while the minimum temperature today was recorded 25.0 degrees Celsius at Hatiya.
The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours till 6am today was recorded 15mm at Srimangal.
