More than 250 tourists are stranded in Sajek, Rangamati, as the Sajek-Baghaihat road has been submerged due to relentless rain.
Vehicle movement has been suspended.
Local residents reported that by Tuesday noon, the Kobakhali section of the Khagrachhari-Sajek road was underwater. As the only road to Sajek became submerged, tourists were left stranded.
Saikat Chakma, a counter lineman for Khagrachhari-Sajek, stated, "Continuous rainfall over the past few days has caused flooding in the district`s low-lying areas. Vehicle movement has been halted due to rising water levels."
Baghaichhari UNO Shirin Akter added, "The stranded tourists will be evacuated once the water levels recede and the road is passable again."
