Sixty people have been killed following an Israeli strike on a residential building in Tehran, according to an Iranian state media report.
Iranian television showed live images of workers removing debris from the site of a 14-story building in the Shahrak-e Shahid Chamran residential compound in Tehran.
According to a reporter at the site, 20 children were killed in the residential building, including infants as young as 6 months old. Ten bodies reportedly remain under the rubble.
Iran’s UN envoy Amir Saeid Iravani said Friday that at least 78 people had been killed by Israeli strikes.
It was not immediately clear whether the 60 killed in the residential building were included in his tally.
