Amid ongoing student protests in India`s capital, New Delhi, over the alleged leak of the NEET medical entrance examination papers and demands for reforms to the country`s education system, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has finally broken his silence following reports of a police baton charge on demonstrators.
In a post on X on Thursday morning, Modi assured the country`s youth that those responsible for the examination paper leak would face strict action. He also announced that the government has decided to establish fast-track courts to ensure the swift trial of such cases.
"Nothing is more important than the welfare and future of our youth!," Modi wrote.
He added, "We have decided to set up fast-track courts to ensure swift and stringent punishment for those involved in paper leaks. Have directed the concerned authorities and officials to take all necessary steps in this regard."
Modi said the move is part of the government`s broader efforts to bring those responsible for paper leaks to justice.
He further stated, "This continues our series of steps for safeguarding the interests of students. Those who try to harm the future of our youth will not be spared."
Meanwhile, despite the prime minister`s announcement, the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) remains firm in its demands. According to NDTV, the party has once again called for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, insisting that he must step down.
