At least two people have died after tornadoes struck parts of northern Texas, leaving homes damaged and dozens of families displaced, authorities said.
One person was killed in Runaway Bay late Saturday, where several houses were severely damaged. Wise County officials said emergency crews worked overnight to clear debris, reopen roads and assist affected residents.
A second fatality was reported near Springtown, where officials described widespread destruction and power outages across the area.
The National Weather Service said an EF-2 tornado with winds of up to 135 mph hit Runaway Bay, while an EF-1 tornado with winds reaching 105 mph struck Springtown.
Meteorologists said the storm system moved slowly through the region late at night, tracking southeast from near the Oklahoma border and passing west of Fort Worth.
Weather radar also detected a potentially dangerous tornado near Azle during the same period, raising further concerns as the system moved across nearby communities.
Authorities said emergency response and damage assessment efforts are ongoing.
