President-elect Donald Trump has selected Kash Patel, an Indian-American, to be the next Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

If all goes as planned, Patel will take over the position when Trump is sworn in as president in January.

According to a report from the BBC, Trump made the announcement on Saturday, revealing that he wants to appoint Kashyap Pramod "Kash" Patel, a former National Security official, as the FBI Director.

Patel, who is 44 years old, is widely known by the name Kash Patel.

With this announcement, Trump has indicated that he may remove the current FBI Director, Christopher Wray, from his position.

Trump won the U.S. presidential election on November 5, but he will officially take office on January 20 of the coming year. Until then, he is preparing to build his administration.

Once elected, the U.S. president is responsible for appointing people to nearly 4,000 positions, ranging from cabinet members to high-ranking officials in different government departments.

Since his victory, Trump has been revealing the names of individuals who will take key roles in his administration.

During Trump‍‍`s first term as president, Kash Patel held important roles, including serving as an adviser to the Director of National Intelligence and to the Secretary of Homeland Security.

Patel had also previously suggested changes within the FBI, recommending that any employee who did not support Trump’s plans should be removed from the agency.
