Mirpur’s Pallabi metro-rail station has opened to commuters from Wednesday after around one month of the inauguration of the service in Dhaka.
After the formal opening of country's first metro rail on December 28, the elevated rail service was operating between Uttara North and Agargaon station uninterruptedly in up-down way.
From Wednesday, commuters can travel from Uttara North Station to Pallabi, Pallabi to Uttara, Pallabi to Agargaon and Agargaon to Pallabi, said Managing Director (MD) of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) M A N Siddique.
The government has fixed Tk 30 for Uttara North Station to Pallabi, Pallabi to Uttara and Agargaon to Pallabi, he added.
Instead of 8am-12 pm, the metro-rail will run from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm, considering the demand of the passengers. The gates were opened at 8 am for purchasing tickets, he said.
