Former Member of Parliament (MP) from the reserved women`s seat, Sabina Akter Tuhin, has been arrested.
She was detained by the Detective Branch (DB) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Sunday night from the Nawabganj area in Dhaka.
The arrest was confirmed by DMP`s Deputy Commissioner (Media) Muhammad Talebur Rahman.
He stated that Sabina Akter Tuhin was arrested from Nawabganj by DB police, though he did not provide details regarding the specific case under which she was apprehended.
Sources indicate that there are multiple allegations against her, including corruption, inciting political violence, and involvement in conspiratorial activities against the government. Based on these charges, she was arrested from the Nawabganj area.
Sabina Akter Tuhin is also known to be a leader of the Dhaka North unit of the Jubo Mohila League.
