Information and Communication advisor to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Sajeeb Wazed Joy, thinks the attacks on Hindu communities at some districts of the country amid the Durga Puja festival were premeditated. He believes BNP leaders are responsible for the incidents.
“Through their activities, it is proved that all the incidents in Cumilla and elsewhere in the country were deliberated, senior BNP leaders are masterminds of the chaos,” Joy wrote in a Facebook post.
Several temples of the Hindu community came under attack, set ablaze alleging defamation of the holy Quran at a Durga Puja venue on October 13.
Later, violence spread in several other temples and puja mandaps in Chandpur, Chattogram, Noakhali, Cox’s Bazar, Feni and Rangpur.
Prime Minister’s son Joy posted a video on his Facebook page featuring the communal attack. The video was captioned “Bangladesh shattered in communal violence: Ghosts of the Pakistanis squat down”.
