A fire has broken out at a multi-storey leather godown in Dhaka’s Hazaribagh Tannery Wet Market area.
The blaze was reported at 2:15pm on Friday and six firefighting units are attempting to tame the flames, according to the Fire Service Control Room.
Md Shahjahan Sikder, a spokesman for the Fire Service, said: “A fire was reported around 2:15pm on the fourth floor of a four-storey leather godown. Two units were sent to the scene and began operations around 2:23pm. Later, four other units joined the firefighting efforts. Another unit is on the way.”
The Fire Service has not yet confirmed the cause of the fire.
